SPRINGBOARDS
This was my artwork created from my second-year art brief with Heloise Godfrey Talbert on the creative and therapeutic arts degree course during the lockdown from the pandemic. Springboards was a space to develop my artistic identity and learn about art in different themes and mediums. These were:
-
Social objects
-
connection
-
Repetition
-
Place
-
Parade
I experimented with weekly projects relating to these themes for example using natural materials going outdoors collecting (sticks) to create marks on the paper with inks responding to social objects "a cat" inspired by Artist Marina Abramović. This followed by exploring repetition with paint and artist like Yoco Ono, and connection through mail art cards, wet felting art to create a place that resembled something to me. The parade was incorporated by making some paper masks that was intended to give voices to people who were affected by domestic violence during the literature and statistics in the pandemic.
